Tax and Duties (Outside the EU)


 

At BAREBOUND, we ship internationally with the goal of making your order experience smooth and transparent. Please read the following information carefully if you are ordering from outside the European Union (EU).

 

International Orders (Outside the EU)

Orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, and handling fees upon arrival in your country. These charges are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in the product or shipping pricesshown at checkout.

The amount of duties and taxes depends on:

  • Your country’s regulations

  • The value and type of the goods

  • Whether your country applies a “de minimis” (minimum value for duty-free imports)

 

🇺🇸 United States

  • Orders under $800 USD are typically duty-free.

  • However, starting August 29, 2025, U.S. Customs will apply import duties to all orders, regardless of value.

  • Footwear imported from Portugal is expected to incur ~8.5% import duty.

  • These charges will be collected by U.S. Customs upon delivery.

 

🇨🇦 Canada

  • Orders above CAD $20 may be subject to GST (5%) and import duties.

  • Additional handling fees may be charged by the shipping carrier (e.g., DHL, FedEx).

  • Footwear and apparel typically carry import duty unless exempted under specific trade agreements.

 

🇦🇺 Australia

  • Orders under AUD $1,000 are generally duty-free.

  • Orders exceeding AUD $1,000 may incur:

    • 5% import duty

    • 10% Goods & Services Tax (GST) calculated on the product value, shipping, and insurance.

  • These charges are collected by Australian Customs.

 

🚚 Who collects the taxes and duties?

  • These charges are usually collected by the carrier (DHL, FedEx, UPS, local postal service) before or upon delivery.

  • BAREBOUND is not responsible for these additional costs, and they are not refundable if you return your order.
